• STAR adds both a control mechanism and line statistical reporting capabilities to 3890 MICR capture under IBM's CPCS, CONIX's BFCS^® and Sterling Software's Vector III.
• The control mechanism is implemented by allowing supervisor specification of MICR capture start-up information. This is then used to validate start-up information entered by the sorter operator.
• The online statistical reporting is provided by automatically capturing statistics at the end of each MICR run. The STAR report generator is then used to selectively display, print or create a PC file of sorter statistics.
• Supported under CPCS from Version 1, Modification level 7 through Version 1, Release 11.
