Enhanced Supervisor is a system that replaces the message display and task cancel functions of the standard CPCS supervisor with a full screen PF key-driven terminal program.

NOTE: Enhanced Supervisor is only supported on CPCS systems that use IBM's Virtual Telecommunications Access method (VTAM) and is not supported on Basic Telecommunications Access Method (BTAM) systems.

Features

• The standard CPCS system supervisor is still utilized for entering supervisor commands such as ANODE, FNODE, STOP etc., but these commands can be entered without interference from displayed messages.
• Each terminal can display system, MICR and/or inscribe supervisor messages as well as optionally displaying all ATASK log messages.
• Messages scroll up the screen in the same manner as MVS operator consoles.
• Important messages may be highlighted - causing them to remain on the screen until manually released - thus preventing important messages from being missed.
• Unimportant messages can be defined to not display at all, depending on the contents of the user's control file.
• Missed messages can be re-displayed by scrolling through the file.
• There is no limit to the number of Enhanced Supervisors running concurrently.
