A Flexible Control System
The Check Processing Control System (CPCS)
allows you to enter control data through the control tickets, such as
batch and block tickets, so you can measure performance by source of
work. However, the more data you collect, the more time and cost
involved, until today. Now you can collect the data in less time through
Quick Start Control System (QSC).
New Workflow with QSC
As work is delivered, remove the control documents, like cash letters,
from the work and send them to the QSC operators to be entered. Tracer
and block tickets are inserted into the work and it is taken to the
sorter room to be captured. The delivered batch tickets are left in
place.
How QSC Works
Control totals are keyed into the QSC system and then matched to the
CPCS work immediately before balancing. Which batch level fields you
choose to use depends on work quantities, what control totals are
supplied on separate documents when work is delivered, and your ability
to use the control tickets delivered.
Different Ways to Use QSC | more...
Enter all the control data. Select either the Best Fit or the Sequential
Match process to create the CPCS batch totals. Which you choose depends
on how well the physical items have been kept in order.
Enter only the block totals and use the Zero Batch process. The CPCS
totals are compared to the totals from the delivered control documents.
Enter the correct total for the batches where the total is incorrect and
accept the others.
Use QSC to enter only block totals, continue to use encoded batch
tickets. This may be an ideal way to process POD or similar work where
you control the ticket format and content.
Batch Total Assignment | more...
Totals are matched to the CPCS totals through one of four different
methods: Sequential Match, Zero Batch, Cash Letter Only and Best Fit
Balances can be matched multiple times. Therefore, totals can be
accepted when only part of the work has been completed or different
methods can be used to determine the match process that gives the best
overall result.
Benefits:
-
Cost Reductions - the greatest saving occurs when correspondents use
Universal Batch Tickets, or a ticket with an R/T you can recognize
- Fewer Balancing Errors
- Complete Processing Sooner - shorten the processing cycle by moving work more quickly from delivery
to the sorter. This means more work can be delivered to earlier higher
value endpoints and more work can be accepted during peak processing
times without adding sorters.
